Critics of Virginia’s
Ken Cuccinelli accuse him of taking the role of attorney general to new levels of activism, but he says he’s just doing his job.
After Cuccinelli’s name made national headlines last week with the first successful assault on health insurance mandates, many see him as an activist attorney general bent on a conservative agenda. And while the cases he tries and his interpretation of the law certainly make conservatives smile, Cuccinelli says he is not doing anything outside the bounds of attorney general.

Authorities received 5,182 pounds of unwanted or expired prescription drugs in their first “Drug Take-Back Day."

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli today fought to keep alive his lawsuit against the federal government for requiring people to buy health insurance as part of the new federal health care reform.
Cuccinelli’s attorneys argued against the federal government’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit before U.S. District Court Judge Henry E. Hudson in Richmond. The judge said he would make his decision within 30 days. If the case is not dismissed, Hudson will hear the case on Oct. 18.
